Topic: [Feature] Allow uploders to view their deleted posts

Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

Requested feature overview description.
I don't know how long deleted posts are kept, but as long as they're available there should be a way for the uploader to view their own deleted posts.
Deleted posts should still be filtered out by default.
This could not apply to posts from removal requests.

Why would it be useful?
It would make janitor feedback easier to review, especially if you don't have access to your files at the moment.
It would make it clear which image is was removed. Right now you need to figure out yourself from memory and the tags, and if you have multiple versions of the same image you might wonder if you just uploaded the wrong version.

What part(s) of the site page(s) are affected?

As a regular user, I came up with a very simple "indexed" system when uploading: make a copy of the file I was uploading to its own folder, and once it was uploaded, rename it to the post ID.
If it got approved from pending, I foldered it under "Approved", which I basically kept as a safeguard for about a month in case it somehow got deleted in that time.
If it got deleted from pending (and I wanted to fix it), I could quickly look it up and make the tweaks I needed to make then reupload.

As a janitor though, I'm personally not bothered to retrieve an uploader's recently deleted image if they ask, because I know that not everybody is as particular about keeping an "index" of their uploads as I am xD

I know it doesn't quite say anything about your request, but it does seem like it would be a bit of a code rewrite for individuals to be able to see just their own deletions.
However, I'm not a site dev so I could be wrong 🤷‍♂️

I've been using a similar system, but it's still inconvenient.

This would be very helpful. If it's possible to distinguish between posts removed by policy (like illegal content) and posts deleted for quality standards, it would be great if uploaders could see the content of their deleted posts for keeping track and improving.

For real. The sanest thing here would be for the images to not only be still accessible to the uploader account, but also to be able to replace the images ourselves and re-submit them, which would streamline resubmittal of corrected images. (For bonus smart points, it might even be able to show the versions uploaded?)

It won't solve the janitors being unable to handle stylization (ง ͠ಠ_ಠ)ง but it will make for a lot more user-friendly and streamlined process for getting images up to their version of gallery-ready. And doing that would, I think, solve about 80% of the friction in using the site -- the easier it is for everyone to work towards those standards, the easier life gets for everyone.

I support this idea, really hard to find out what the hell I uploaded which got rejected.

And since we're at it can we add a way to follow a director?

You can do this with re6ai from topic #227 at least. You'll need to install a script manager extension such as tampermonkey or violentmonkey to be able to install and use re6ai. Unfortunately, this doesn't really work reliably on mobile since the interface was made for desktop users. It technically loads but it's just not a good experience on there from what I tried.

i had my own experiences with re6 on mobile and can say that

it works at least
at least
but how much ti does work its dependable on who uses it
