Five Nights at Freddy's 3 is the last game in the Five Nights at Freddy's series in terms of the general story-line, featuring a protagonist pitted against one determined animatronic while working as (just like in previous games) a night guard. Interestingly for a series based around horror, it features what's usually seen as an unambiguous happy ending, with all animatronics trashed and the souls of murdered children haunting them implied to have found peace. Despite initial expectations, it wound up not being the last game produced, with a prequel titled Five Nights at Freddy's 4 coming out from creator Scott Cawthon.
