Reason:

1. Most of the time, we see very simplified version of the ambient_<specie>.

most of the time the level of detail is too low to really tell some shapes apart. e.g. are the ambient feys or butterflies?
Sometimes we just don't see them e.g. ambient fireflies are only flying wisp-like floating lights.

2. Users are much less likely to forget to tag the species of the characters, than forget to tag for ambient_<specie>.

E.i. *if* both specie and ambient_<specie> can apply, there's little change the that <specie> will have to be added by auto insertion of the implication.
Also gives more flexibility to the taggers to not include a specie tag if they deems that specie to not be present in the artwork.

3. e621 have don't have those links.

Interestingly enough there's hint that specie should be tag only if there's a non-ambient depiction of the specie
