    Nah, I made the sperm weird cause the donkey's genes are a bit twisted. She's still 200% fertile and will be making more babies with the staff.
    Her branch has no horse in it anyway, their common ancestor was a donkey. She's actually related to the rats as well via the ? in her family bush, though no one knows it.

    Besides, considering the hyena has knocked up at least 5 different species so far, manimals must have had some ✨~magical~✨ bioengineering that ensures everyone is perfectly compatible with everything. Surely mules wouldn't shoot blanks in those circumstances.
    Hybrids usually take after one of their parents' non-hybrid species and just get a few features from the other(s). For example Sofonda's mom is a cat, which is why her hands and feet aren't pink. Totally not because the old pony models barely knew what hamsters look like.
    After one more generation of breeding with that species the offspring is indistinguishable from it. The only leftover donkeyness on the horse are her black ear tips.

    Also, how come older posts like this don't show up when searching comments by tag? I almost missed this extremely important question.
