    Isn't the lower half far too small to provide sufficient counter weight for the torso? Not to mention how short the legs are for someone his height?

    Oh they do compete but i guess wolves and cayotes sense they've been around each other for hundreds if not thousands of years have gotten used to each other. the reason we see more coywolves nowadays is because wolves have been hunted a lot farther north then they ever have in history with there numbers in North America also the lowest they've been in history
