lifted

The state of one character being picked up by another. Normally, but not always, the one being lifted will be smaller and submissive. The process of lifting a character partially or fully is known as lifting.

Not to be confused with

  • carrying - The primary difference between a lifting position and a carry position is that carry positions tend to be more stable, often featuring the character resting atop a body part of another character such as on their shoulders. Lifting positions are often temporary, and have the character being supported directly by the arms or hands of another character.
  • suspension – when a character is being held aloft from the ceiling by a non-living thing, such as a rope.
