Description

Here some of the most common races tightly integrated into the workings of society within the Ineo Empire - one of the major world powers of Midria's world.

Lore dump on why these races are together

Nagas (mentioned in post #38884) are derived from humans. Given their human lineage, and the fact that they were intentionally brought into the world by them, they never strayed too far from the tree. Humans value them for their superior combat prowess to such an extent that juvenile nagas are used to nobles sponsoring their training to reserve their employment years ahead of time. They are often found as royal guards or personal retinue.

Veskulas (mentioned in post #87762) are practically the human's reptilian counterpart, and the two races go back to the dawn of civilization. At the time, both races served a dragon benefactor and thus considered one another as a sort of sibling race, and when they outgrew the dragon's protection, birthed a civilization together.

Trili are the first and oldest of the ascended races and was the third in the trio of races under dragon rule, joining the humans and veskula. The trili are physically weak, and not too bright either, likely a consequence to being first - the process of creating ascended races was unrefined. As such, they latch onto stronger races and work as laborers in exchange for protection. There are, however, a few gems among their rank that rise to do great things.

Ildari are a nomadic group that often take advantage of their imposing height such that when someone thinks of a mercenary, they're probably picturing an ildari. They gravitate towards Ineo in particular as there are no shortage of problems for them to help out with. Older ildari that have concluded a cultural pilgrimage sometimes settle down and find normal employment in the various cities.

Folrixi and Feylinn can be found throughout the world and are not unique to Midria. They lean into their charismatic nature and seldom have much trouble fitting into whichever culture they wander into.

Kobolds were brought into the world shortly before the humans, veskula and trili trio left the dragons to carve their own path. But there was a period of time when kobolds lived among the trio, and a small sect ended up tagging along when the new civilization was dawned. Humans consider kobolds instrumental to infrastructure projects, regarding them as industrious workers. The brighter ones are often found as artificers and alchemists, working under the employment of powerful factions.

Fenn are found all throughout the world, for better or worse. The fenn are ordered into a large number of factions, some of which are powerful allies to the crown, offering their unique talents, whereas others are much more self-serving.

Murnoks are just happy to be here. Their biology limits them to specific biomes, much of which overlaps with the territories of Ineo. The frogkin have some bad history with the empire, though most of it was thousands of years ago. Now-a-days they are generally regarded as a bright-minded folk, especially in the arcane arts.

So, I wonder: if you had to pick only 3, which ones would be in your party?
