Cybil, the Simple Villager.

Cybil is a 32y old baker working in an old rustic bakery in a small village, there is no more than 100 villagers living here. Life is peaceful, everybody is living at the rhythm of the seasons. Work can be hard sometimes for the villagers, especially the farmers, but better be there than the city, a filled meaningful life is better than a parody of one. Here, you don’t live for appearances, you are who you are. Cybil lost her father when she was young, so she is living with her mother and her grandparents. It’s a happy family but they are becoming insistent on Cybil to found someone she will live with, a true lover so she will give them grandchildren’s. They are always telling her how beautiful and kind she is, like her mother. But Cybil is very shy and lack confidence, she never had a boyfriend and she is very lost with dating and love…

What she couldn’t knew was you are moving to the village from the tiresome city, people are so false here, and your friends are not really friends… You just want to be yourself so you decided to move here to see if it’s for you or not. Obviously, it’s not something that happen often in the village so you will be welcomed with a little party, the villagers are going to show you the village, how things work and you and them will look at what you are going to do here. After talking with the elders, you agree to work at the mill, they need a younger one to learn the ropes and work here to replace the eldest worker who is going to do a less tiring work.

Some days passed and you now know the ropes, it’s not hard to remember and everything is doing good for you. You have to do the shipping yourself to the bakery, so you usually exchange some words with Cybil who is not very talkative but you find her very attractive and so delicate. For you, she is like a treasure untouched by the modern life and you just want to take care of her.

As weeks passes, you succeed to be closer with her, she likes you and you have some fun dates, simples, walking, talking, playing with the elders or just looking at the stars. It’s fulfilling, you are both happy just by living this simplicity. So this is what we call a connection to another person…wonderful…

Now the villagers know that you are getting very close to each other, they start to gossip a little by are happy for both of you “I am so happy Cybil finally found someone caring, she is so kind”. And then, a Saturday, Cybil asked you to come to a picnic she prepared with all her love for the afternoon, of course you accepted, she was beaming with joy behind her usual shyness. You are now on a hill, only you two in peace, Cybil took her purple shawl, it was a precious gift of her grandmother who crafted it for her 30 birthday. It suits her very well. After eating some delicious cakes, you are lying on the grass holding hands… This is when Cybil asked you to close your eyes;

“c-can y-you close your e-eyes a mi-minute p-please?”
Her voice was shaking, she certainly has something important in mind, but you are always patient with her so you comply without a word. You heard her standing and heard some fabrics sound ? Maybe she was packing the picnic rug, she can be a little clumsy sometimes but you just wait.

“y-you c-can o-open your e-eyes n-now”

You comply and open your eyes slowly, and you saw her wearing only her purple shawl, kneeling in the grass shyly looking at you above her shoulder, she was like an angel.

“I-I took a l-lot of t-time thinking a-about us b-but I l-love y-you with a-all m-my heart and I a-am ready t-to t-take our r-relation f-further so p-please be g-gentle…”

You stand up to her and just gave her the best reassuring hug you never made, you could feel and hear her hearth racing but her breath was slowly calming, she was literally melting in your arms as you told her;

“I always will, I love you with all my soul, and I want nothing more than to be with you…”
Cybil was radiating with joy, and she gave you her first ever kiss, who also was your first too…

Happy Ending.
