Some fun facts about caribou / reindeer: not only are they the only species of deer where the females have big impressive antlers too, they actually have them more so than the males do. While the males lose their antlers seasonably, the females' are permanent. So in a weird way, antlers take on a feminine characteristic for these deer.

They are also the only species of deer that is semi-domesticated on a mass scale. That inspired me to slap some armor on this beastie, suggestive of its integrated nature with clan culture.
