Description

As the coffee machine began its mechanical hum, Sunny stood by the counter, watching the first amber drops splash into the glass carafe. She turned around, leaning back against the edge of the laminate surface, and kicked her heels up gently against the cabinet doors.

"You're awfully quiet this morning," she said, a soft smile playing at the corners of her lips.

"Just enjoying the view," I replied, stepping closer until I was standing right between her outstretched feet.

Her blue eyes caught the pale morning light spilling through the window, bright and amused. She reached out, her clawed fingers tracing the length of my bare chest, stopping just above my hips.

"Is that right?" she whispered, her voice dropping into that quiet register meant only for the two of us. "Or are you just waiting for the caffeine?"

I folded my hands behind my back, feeling the warmth of her fingers sliding downwards. "I don't mind waiting." I murmured, inhaling as I took in the view.

Sunny laughed softly, leaning back as I stepped in closer, bridging the space between us until her breath warmed my cheek. Behind us, the coffee machine continued to hiss, the rich, dark aroma of roasting beans began to curl through the cool morning air.
