Luevel Lights: When it comes to domestic arcane applications, gem-powered lucimancy lighting was one of the first and most obvious developments, dating back to the Druidic Age. Notably, these things are almost always based on topaz crystals since they strike the perfect practical balance of abundance and affordability, with all the right nuanced arcane properties ideal for this form of energy.

Assuming the estate owner is not concerned about gem theft, the small household variants are known as luevel lights, named after the common enchanting technique. They are a pebble-sized cut of topaz encased in a glass diffuser and can operate for approximately a year before the enchantment degrades. Still, while the gems are cheap, they're not that cheap - only a portion of commonfolk will save up for them, with most considering them a showy luxury. But for folks who do have them, they tend to make for a cozy place to bring home new friends, as pictured.

Everyone clicked on this thumbnail to learn about fantasy light bulbs, right? You know, when I play the odd fantasy RPG, I kinda wonder about the lighting in all those ancient dungeons and question the sheer scale of the candle wax industry in those worlds. Surely there must be a better way! First shown in post #95865.
