more from the evil sexy supersaurians

--------------

These were your champions?

The approaching female Archa malevolently smiled, basking in our futile attempts to hurt her. The light thud of her feet and scrape of her talons against the ruined tarmac were barely audible above the sounds of the dying city around me; screams from civilians with nowhere safe on the entire planet to flee to; frantic, hopeless gunfire; endless shouts of retreat to nowhere in particular from human forces; and triumphant Archa roars.

A shot called out from my left and struck her on the right breast, but she was unfazed. She simply turned to look in the direction of the gunfire. I looked quickly and saw one of my squadmates still left. A little hope returned that I wasn't alone.

And that hope she crushed when two searing beams of orange energy lanced from her eyes and halved him down the middle. His bisected body crumpled to floor in a gruesome pile of blood and viscera. The collapse of several bisected floors of a skyscraper and slumping of vehicles also hit by the beam followed.

I staggered back, tripped over the body of one of my squadmates, fell on my backside, and happened upon his rifle. I scooped it up and unloaded it into the reptilian. Some shots I missed with my trembling aim, gouging three inch wide holes straight through an apartment block behind her and into the next building beyond, but the majority found their mark and yet again did nothing to her.

"What the fuck," I muttered under my breath. Eyes wide, piss soaked from fright and shock, I crawled back away from her as she continued her graceful walk of slaughter.

A dry, dusty gale generated by a calamitous explosion from an Archa's fingertip energy beam surged down the street from my right, catching in my throat and irritating my eyes. I reached for my sidearm, having expended the rifle battery on her. Her muscular, charcoal colored body was completely unharmed in spite of all the efforts of my platoon.

"These were your species' champions?" she said, her telepathic voice hissing in my head. She presented a human skull belonging to a former SAA. I'd seen her tearing it from one of their corpses before we engaged her, doubtlessly some sort of trophy. Her voice was hoarse, and soon she started laughing in hissing tones.

I tried aiming for her face this time, but the brightness of the red sky, burning buildings, burning metallic fumes, and the dryness of the grainy air in my eyes made it impossible. My vision swam, and blurred.

"Why bother," she said, as she pulled the gun from my hands with her telekinetic powers. I saw it crumpled into a pellet as it was flung into a pile of burning vehicles and rubble.

"Your pathetic 'superhuman' warriors landed shots far better than you ever could. And look where it got them," she said, gesturing to the skull in her hand.

I moved to push myself up, turn and run, but she was already behind me. Their movements and speed were simply beyond belief. Then, before I knew what happened next, she was suddenly right in front of me. Something hit me in the chest, causing me to nearly fall back. There was a strange fullness there, a warmth, then a chill as something was pulled out. Wetness running down my stomach followed, and I realized I had no pulse.

The world spun as I fell through vertigo, dizziness and encroaching blackness from all sides, catching a final glimpse of the fist sized hole she punched through me.

"In the immediate aftermath of the dazzling light and lethal heat the Archa unleashed upon our spacefaring navies across hundreds of light years of space, human governments had no time to comprehend the instant annihilation of every single one of their star fleets before meeting their soon-to-be conquerors in the flesh.Nothing could have prepared them for how horrifically outmatched the human species was compared to the Archa. It wasn't simply a matter of them being so vastly superior to us in every imaginable way. It was the terminating fact they were far, far, far beyond the greatest possible extent of human potential. They were stronger, faster, tougher, and smarter than what was possible under the enduring laws of physics so oppressively capping human capability.Take for example the Special Augmented Assets (SAA) of the Central Earth Government Defense Force. SAA were superhumans, genetically engineered from the womb to possess exceptionally heightened physical and mental abilities. Layered atop a superhuman physique were powerful cybernetics and biotechnologies only their anatomy and physiologies could support, finished off with cutting edge armour further enhancing performance across all faculties. Surrounding them was a myriad of intel feeds from drones, aircraft, satellites, wiretaps, nanobots and techbugs that could feed their super-cognition with more than enough information to make them nigh-omniscient on the field. SAA were capable of quelling entire rebel and insurrection movements, whether that be wiping them out in open battle or working covertly to pluck them off one by one from within, and it was scarcely possible for a human to get any better.SAA were deployed to confront Archa warriors when they descended from the skies of Earth. Most were dead within three seconds of contact with an Archa, and that was only because the godlike saurians were amused by them. In one instance, fifteen SAA were slaughtered by a single female Archa before any of them could aim their weapons (not that any human weapon would make a difference). Even their high-speed cameras couldn't capture the speed of the creature, except for one blurry frame. The Archa gathered the skulls of these legendary superhumans and affixed them to various structures they erected to process human populations for subservience; monuments to the uncrossable valley separating Archa from humans. They are gods. We're not."
