She's determined that the curse was meant to rob her family of their eldest, who would have to spend their days hunting for rare apples in the wild. Fortunately, they got rich despite it and she can afford to have a plantation tend to her dietary requirements as she seeks out the power responsible not only for her curse, but the rest as well. And make it miserable.

She typically leads an expedition of well-paid mercenaries into some strange places. Here, she's responding to a joke by her trusted second, after she had no choice but to transform when the apple supply was lost overnight to monkeys.
