Description

Devoiders: In the Sun Crest, if you see someone with a missing limb, there's a good chance they were, or still are, someone whom specializes in devoiding.

Silvermist City is named after its desert - Silver Sands - which in turn is named after the dunes' subtle, trademark silvery sparkle. This sparkle comes from petrosylabite - a crystalline silver dust simply known as "kindling sand" by laymen. Its used as an aid by beginner mages to excite the ambient magic around them in order to "feel it".

Unfortunately the presence of so much petrosylabite on a mass geographic scale causes void rifts to form whenever the occasional issure storm rages. Essentially, the magic gets too excited to the point that it causes a fantastic rupture, as if the air itself was torn. Left unchecked, these rifts are quite destructive to the surrounding landscape. Crews with specialized equipment known as devoiders collect bounties on their removal, though the process is dangerous as void spores have a tendency to unpredictably float through the rift and cause chunks of mass - such as limbs - to simply disappear like they were never there.

In case you're wondering what they're doing, they're gonna blow that fucker up. The book is charting out the extent of the anomaly and tells 'em exactly where to put them, some digging required. Though I'm not sure what the carpet roll is for... I think that's just a sex mat for later.

A couple short animated versions are on discord.
