Ye’zah, a Little Alien under the Rain .

As a member of X.E.G.O –Xenognosis- your mission is to explore the universe, searching and observing every living xeno species. It’s an honor to be part of X.E.G.O.

You found a promising new unknown planet in the sector *REDACTED**, this is an entire tropical planet where it rains most of the year. The sky is mostly cloudy and the sun is green. Your initial scans revealed plenty of life, would be flora or fauna. This mean you have a lot of work to do.

After finding a good spot to land your ship and then set a security perimeter, you installed the habitation module and the external walls. You also have a drone you named Dob to assist you in your tasks. You then took some samples of the water and flora close to your camp to analyze them.

“Better be indoor than outdoor, well, let’s take a look at the internal X.E.G.O recent reports while the analyzer does his job.”

The recent employee recruited by X.E.G.O named Ember, is getting a lot of success at analyzing the biomechanical planet. By using the planet technology, she crafted a cybernetic arm but with an unprecedented rate of symbiosis. This is maybe a new era for science and possibly a revolution in the medical field…

“Ah, analyzer is done, so…water can be consumed it seems but I prefer using the usual filters. Low toxicity for the flora, not dangerous but not edible. I will take a closer look while exploring, there is always roots, spices, fruits and berries somewhere…hey…the second sample of water have a high rate of estrogens but there is no trace of pee…genital fluids ? It could be. Maybe there is a creature not far doing something sexual. Hey, that is why I signed for ! Okay, that’s not really for that, but I am curious now.”

You returned to the same place you collected the samples, it was a small river, well, mostly a flow of water than a river in fact. You have a special type of light for tracking that sort of fluids. But what make it special is the fact it doesn’t emit a visible light, but it need to be associated with special googles. This is a stealth tracking method and, this plus the stealth suit are perfect for staying undetected. Best of all, your drone had a stealth mode installed. Like you, he is not invisible, but it’s going to be hard to see you two except if a creature has some sort of special vision or whatever anyway.

“Indeed, I see the sparse fluids in the water, they are coming from this way…uh ? A glowing globe ? Turn off the light Oh. A spherical egg. Orange with brown spots, covered in genital fluids. There is an oviposition happening not far.”

As you follow the fluids, you walk slowly to not make a sound, helped by the rain and the thunders. And then, you see it, the creature is sitting in the water, legs spread and visibly pregnant, possibly a clutch of another 5-8 more eggs. She has an ovipositor-like appendage and another egg is being laid. The creature is of two colors, purple and orange. She also has brown spots on her body. Her skin is floppy/wrinkled, it could be because of the humidity and the perpetual rain, but also because she is old. Hard to say without good samples.

Hm ? She looked in my direction. But no changes in her comportment. Don’t think she saw me. She just laid another egg.

So, her torso is thin, but her ass, thighs and calfs are thick and muscular. Certainly because of a life moving in water. Her feets are…meaty with three very long toes. She has skinny arms and shoulders with hands with 2 clawed fingers. She has very big breasts for her frame, very saggy too. I am not sure if this is nipples is the proper sense but I never saw this, seems like four sensitives glands that seems inflated. Certainly because of hormones, can be a form of arousal too.

Uh ? Did she looked again in my direction ? I am starting to wonder if she can see me…

I think she still have 3-4 eggs to lay at this instant. So, her head, she has a cobra-like hood, she is bald with two small curved horns. A snout with 2 nostrils and big blue glowing eyes with a black sclera and long eyelashes. Cute face. Black tongue, no sharp teeths. Okay, preliminary observation done. She is certainly already scanned by Dob so I will just wait till the end of the laying. Always fascinating to see but I wonder why laying the eggs and letting them go ? Unfertilized eggs maybe ? Or a strange doing of abandoning her youngs. Ah, it seems she finished to lay.

She grabbed her last egg, strange. She is breathing a little more slowly now but she is still sitting like before…tongue in now. And she is looking at me again, she can see me, it’s starting to get obvious, there is nothing behind me and Dob is on my shoulder…she is getting up, her ovipositor is retracting slowly. She still has the egg in her hands. She is starting to walk…in my direction !

The creature is now standing just before me at 1 meter, she is 1m40 tall approximately and she is looking up and down at me. Well, useless to be in stealth mode it seems.

“Stealth off.”

She had a little startle, very little, she is not afraid. I have the translator, as usual.

“I understood you could see me, can you talk ? Or do you want something ?”

She was puzzled and said something I could not understand, absolutely normal. I don’t know the level of her intelligence, but she doesn’t seem to be feral so for now, let’s say middle between animal and human. She raised her right hand and approached slowly.

“You want something ?”

She just touched my leg and belly, she was intrigued by the suit certainly. She tapped gently on me. She doesn’t seem aggressive at all, it just look like pure curiosity. She saw I wasn’t aggressive while she was totally vulnerable so it certainly played in my favor, plus I didn’t touch her eggs. I showed her my hands with palms up. She fidgeted a little with them and stopped. She then grabbed her last egg with both her hands and gave it to me.

“Oh hum, thanks, you want me to take care of it ?”

She took my hands with hers, she closed them gently on the egg and pushed my hands on my belly with the egg in them. And she said something.

“Ieza”

She then slowly walked back and waved at my with a slight smile, so I did the same and she departed, slowly.

“Well, for sure, she isn’t a fast creature, and she is certainly tired after all of this. It seem I have a baby now…”

Sigh

“I hadn’t planned to be a father right now…and I have no clues on how this specie live and what she need…I need to send the initials scans to X.E.G.O, they will help me on this...well, we will give your mother a name at least…”Ieza” she said uh ? So it will be…Ye’zah. Kinda cool.”

And this happened very close to my camp, if she is somewhat sedentary…this mean I will not be surprised if I encounter her again…so…maybe I will not be a single father after all.
