Description

Dr. Eliza Voss: (leaning over the monitors, adjusting her lab coat) This is it, Kael. The machine's been running for ten minutes now. The neural mapping protocol is 92% complete. I can already tell this is going to be a breakthrough.

Lena Kael: (striding into the dimly lit room, checking the status of the equipment) Yeah? Breakthrough for who? For SynthTech BioOrg, or just another notch on your belt?

Voss smirks, glancing up from her tablet.

Dr. Eliza Voss: Oh, come on. You know this is bigger than us. Mind transfer technology—think about the applications. We could be selling consciousness as a commodity. Upgrading bodies for the ultra-rich. Entire minds stored in digital archives...

Kael raises an eyebrow, circling around the operating table where Asher Greymane lies restrained.

Lena Kael: You know, I’m still not sure about this whole "destroying the original brain" thing. What if it doesn’t work? What if her mind gets lost in translation?

Voss frowns, stepping closer to the machine.

Dr. Eliza Voss: We’ve tested this on animals—rats, pigs, even a few humans who were willing. The success rate is over 80%. Besides, if it doesn’t work... well, we can always start over with another test subject.

Kael chuckles dryly, shaking her head.

Lena Kael: Yeah, but this one’s special, isn’t she? I mean, a werewolf. A real, live were-wolf woman. Do you even know how rare that is?

Voss hesitates, then nods slowly.

Dr. Eliza Voss: Rare enough that we had to use ten times the dosage of elephant tranquilizers just to bring her down. But trust me, Kael, this isn’t about her being a werewolf. This is about pushing the boundaries of what we can do with organic and synthetic integration.

Kael steps closer to Asher, running a gloved hand along her arm. She hums softly, clearly intrigued by the thought of what comes next.

Lena Kael: (smirking) Boundaries be damned, right? You’re getting all wet in your pants over this, aren’t you? I can tell you’re thinking about what we could do with her body once the transfer’s done.

Voss turns sharply, narrowing her eyes at Kael.

Dr. Eliza Voss: Watch your mouth, Kael. This is a scientific endeavor. Not some personal fetish project.

Kael raises her hands in mock surrender, grinning slyly.

Lena Kael: Oh, come on, Doc. Don’t tell me you haven’t thought about it. A body like hers—strong, athletic, and built like that? You’ve got to admit, there’s something... *appealing* about her.

Voss hesitates for a moment before sighing heavily.

Dr. Eliza Voss: (glancing back at Asher) Fine. Maybe I have wondered what we could do with this body after the transfer. But that’s not why we’re doing this. We’re here to make history, Kael. That’s it.

Kael smirks, clearly enjoying the moment.

Lena Kael: Whatever you say, Doc. Just don’t act so surprised when I take a little souvenir or two after the procedure’s done.

Voss rolls her eyes but doesn’t protest further, her attention returning to the monitors.

Dr. Eliza Voss: Focus on the task at hand. The neural mapping is almost complete. We need to ensure that every synapse and memory is accounted for. If even one connection is missed, the transfer could fail entirely.

Kael nods, still studying Asher’s body with a speculative gaze.

Lena Kael: Yeah, yeah. Mind map this, mind map that. I just can’t help thinking about what we’re going to do with all that data once it’s collected. Imagine having access to her entire life—her memories, her experiences...

Voss cuts her off with a sharp look.

Dr. Eliza Voss: We don’t keep the data, Kael. It’s transferred and stored securely on the mainframe. End of story.

Kael shrugs, clearly unimpressed.

Lena Kael: Whatever you say. I’ll still be here when it’s time to celebrate—or clean up the mess.

Voss sighs, turning her attention back to the machine.

Dr. Eliza Voss: Just focus on your job, Kael. And for God’s sake, stop ogling the merchandise.

Kael smirks but says nothing more, retreating to a corner of the room to monitor the security feeds.

For a moment, the lab falls silent except for the low hum of the mind-transfer machine and the occasional beeps from the monitors. Then, Voss glances back at Asher, her expression softening slightly.

A little short story about Asher getting captured and used to test a machine...
I'm down for suggestions on where to take this little storyline next?
