to be honest I find it brilliant as it sounds a bit like "owner", but it also sounds like "own" which ties nicely with the "sense of self" of this character
(it is a faceless character, mostly shown in first person that the reader can identify as, you can make him you own)
I really appreciate all the suggestions that you folks made, I'll make sure to ask my question here next time too!
