The hardest part about the Andes was realizing how much my late father would have looked down on the colorful roughspun woolens the locals wore. He'd have insisted on finer weaves, finer threads, something he'd call deserving of their dyes.I wore them everyday I was there. I clothed myself in pure delight, soft and warm.
