Life has many twists and turns when you are from a conquered tribe from deep in the jungle. The young become servants, fit males become labour in the mines, while the women become workers for the fields. All lose their rights to those that conquered, yet those of particular appearance or stature are used for other duties. Men and women of great beauty are commonly purchased to become the playthings of the wealthy or nobility, and those of former nobility are used for ancient rights for the land.

As the Daughter of the former Chief of her people, Azdaja has been given a “special” duty. She will not be the play thing or concubine of the Wolf that conquered her tribe, at least not yet. Azdaja will be used to perform an offering of fertility for the God of the Land. She must endure this trial for the sake of her people but she must be cautious for she is of age and her new Chief has a lustful eye for those that carry life.
