The best-looking male red fox is chosen and somewhat coerced into bedding with the leader of the Wolfkin's tribal clan in submission for the good of their own Vulpine clan. In exchange, the foxes gain the hunting rights of their shared territory and to officialise a non-agression mutual agreement between the members of their clan and the much powerful Wolfkin's clan, preventing any quarrels that could lead to violence against the smaller foxes for the rest of the season.
