Hi Folks,

is there a way to update / replace images posts. I generally try to clean up my images before posting, but sometimes I do miss defects like:
- double nostrils pointed out by blp on post #72201
- extra toe as pointed out by polar on post #70843

So naturally I'd like to fix those issues. I assume it's not possible to update the posts directly. Are there any other things that I can do to fix up those defects? If I delete the original and repost, then everyone who fav'd the post will loose the fav in their feed. If I just post an updated / fixed version of the original, I guess this could be considered too spammy?

Any best practices I can follow here?

Janitors can replace posts for you, so you could ask one. Never replaced one of my posts, but as far as I know the post keeps the favs but loses the votes.

Send me the images you want to replace them with and I'll help you.
If you'd like to go the easier way that you can fix yourself then you can upload the fixed versions and flag the old ones as inferior/duplicate versions of the new one, that way when they are deleted we move the favourites to the new posts.

You can flag your own uploads as duplicates and upload fixed version that will replace the old one. Favorites get ported over to the new fixed gen, but I don't think likes carry over.

I may be able to fix some of the errors in your images for you if you'd like? I mostly use Dream.AI for editing out any mistakes in my post so I should be able to do the same for yours! Just lemme know if that's okay with you? Thanks

Got it. In that case I'll take the easy way and try to fix it myself. After all it was me who screwed up, so I should try my best to make things easier for you.

Are you kidding? That would be fantastic! You have no idea how badly I suck at editing xD. I still rely on traditional tools like Krita to do my edits. And usually I can't fix stuff perfectly.
I hereby give you permission to edit any of my posts xD. Feel free modify them as you please. Don't feel pressured to do any of this though. I don't want to force my cleanup duties on you. Only do it, if you have fun doing so :)

Krita is a powerful tool and actually excellent at fixing errors like these. Clone tool and distort tool are all you need really.
Fixing errors like this when you know what you're doing takes less than a minute. If you are okay with someone else editing your images then I can replace them immediately should you so wish.

It really isn't an issue, I'd be glad to help with that! I'll make some fixes for the images you currently provided, and I'll let you know when they are ready!

UPDATE: I have the fixed/upscaled the version of Post https://e6ai.net/posts/70843 and is now available and ready! This one was a little tricky but it should be fine now! I can send you the image on Discord or through my email: [email protected]
