Topic: [APPROVED] Make New Video Model Tags Meta

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #941 is active.

change category google_omni (1) -> meta
change category grok_video (1) -> meta

Reason: Google Omni and Grok Video are two new corporate video AI models. Users are uploading videos made with those models so created tags for them, but can't make those tags meta like other model tags without a BUR.

It's exciting to see what these new models are capable of, so hopefully proper tagging will help people find these video and encourage more experimentation with them!

EDIT: The bulk update request #941 (forum #5547) has been approved by @Jelloponies.

Would grok_video be different from grok_imagine?

I believe it should be. grok_imagine was Grok's first image and video generation service. Grok just release a new video model that people are calling Grok Imagine 2.0 but the official name is Grok Video. It's like Seedance 1.0 vs Seedance 2.0 and such. The new model has much better capabilities (and is apparently more uncensored???!!! , at least for now), so it seems significantly different enough to warrant a different model tag.

On a related note, the newest Kling model is Kling 3.0 . Currently, we just have one "kling" tag. However you can see the newest Kling 3.0 animations like https://e6ai.net/posts/168312 are a lot different than the Kling 1.0 animations like https://e6ai.net/posts/153259 because the model has changed so much. Similar to the Grok situation mention above, should we make a new tag for each new generation of model to better distinguish between them? Just like going from SD1.5 to SDXL the significant technology leaps really change what kind of gens are possible.
