Topic: Updates to the advertisement rules

Posted under General

Hi folks,

We'd like to address something that's been a point of contention for a while now among certain creators, more specifically how we enforce our rules regarding advertisements for paywalled content.

First of all, we'd like to be very clear that our stance on ads hasn't changed. The incredible efficiency and accessibility of AI tools means it's now easier than ever to mass-produce content and immediately start selling it as an AI creator. In the past, this has led to certain users churning out content, bundling it into paid image packs, and using e6ai as a platform to freely advertise those packs. These practices directly go against the spirit of e6ai, which has always been about showcasing and enjoying the wonderful creations that AI tools make possible.

In pursuit of discouraging these practices, we've continuously tightened enforcement of our policies. Over time, however, we've realized that this has effectively removed any realistic opportunity for creators to grow their audience through our site once they also choose to monetize some of their content.

We don't want creators to feel like they're being taken advantage of, or that they're expected to contribute content to the site without having any opportunity to grow their audience outside of the e6ai platform. We believe in empowering and highlighting the many amazing AI creators out there, and our enforcement in this area has missed the mark when it comes to supporting them.

Effective today, we're scaling back some of our rules regarding advertisements on the site.

We still do not allow links to sites containing paywalled content, nor references to them on the site in any capacity.

What we do allow, however, are links to social media accounts, regardless of whether those accounts contain references to paywalled content. Those accounts are your own business, and frankly not something we feel we should control.

We want e6ai to remain a place that celebrates AI creativity while still treating the creators who help shape this community fairly.

At the end of the day, e6ai would not exist without the people who upload, comment, favourite, and otherwise interact with the site. Even when discussions around our rules get heated, we always strive to listen and take feedback provided by the community into account, and today's update is a direct result of us listening.
