Topic: [REJECTED] Tag alias: tyrannosaurus_rex -> tyrannosaurus

I agree these are equivalent, but is there a reason to prefer "tyrannosaurus" to "Tyrannosaurus Rex?" The latter is the full english name and it's what Danbooru and e621 use. If it's for the sake of brevity then "t_rex" would be better.

No real preference but I'm fine with using either tag, just defaulted to the wikipedia naming scheme. I don't reference Danbooru tags for these BURs but as for e621 using _rex, that's purely because they're still in the current situation we're in with having both tyrannosaurus and tyrannosaurus_rex as separate tags when they probably shouldn't be. The usage there only comes from the fact that they haven't done anything about the separation yet, although I did find a few old forum posts of people trying to propose aliasing tyrannosaurus to tyrannosaurus_rex which hadn't yet been handled so I guess that makes sense.

As for using "t_rex" or "tyrannosaurus_rex" I'm not sure if it would matter that much as the aliasing would just do the job for that anyway. If someone wants to type "t_rex" it'll give them the "full" tag, as the alias for t_rex -> tyrannosaurus_rex already exists in the system.
