The bulk update request #594 is active.

Reason: We have a minor snag in Mario tags as we have splits such as super_mario_bros, super_mario, mario_(series), etc. Thankfully there aren't an enormous amount of posts in these tags, but nonetheless, this is intended to clean things up before it becomes a bigger problem, generally following the consolidation taken on e621 with some deviations I've considered myself. These deviations include:

• Aliasing mainline/mainline-adjacent titles such as super_mario_64, super_mario_galaxy, super_mario_3d_world, etc. to the mario_bros tag. While e621 aliases the games that actually have "Super Mario Bros." in the title, e621 implies these other tags instead, but we have generally prioritized mainline tags consolidating to one tag. The 3D games were always technically a continuation of the larger Mario Bros. series after Super Mario World anyway, even if the title doesn't make it seem like that although other wikis usually call this series "Super Mario" rather than "Mario Bros." Maybe that can be debated if we want to change to super_mario for these instead as I can obviously just edit it, but personally I'm fine with whichever way it ends up being. I'm just doing it this way first for consistency. Spinoff game tags do seem to be allowed to co-exist, so I'm not aliasing those.

• Bringing the Pauline tag back to pauline_(mario) instead of mayor_pauline. Pauline is only represented as a mayor in one mainline game. And after looking it up, of course this alias on e621 was done by user ImpidiDinkaDoo who garnered a bit of a reputation for doing things like this without a forum discussion or community votes. I had to deal with some of their other tagwork like this in my Monster Hunter BUR as well.

• Speaking of spinoffs, I am changing mario_plus_rabbids_kingdom_battle to just be mario_plus_rabbids as the Kingdom Battle subtitle was just one game, and there has since been a second game in that spinoff series subtitled Sparks of Hope.

• For the last real deviation, I am changing the main tag for super_mario_rpg_legend_of_the_seven_stars to just be super_mario_rpg. Not only is the original tag just unnecessarily long in my opinion, but the remake also drops the subtitle, leaving just "Super Mario RPG" officially.
