There was no way forward without betraying our community and essentially handing over the entire website to them on a silver platter. We tried talking it out over these last few days. We tried to have MakeFox see us as equals and value our input, but sadly this was not the outcome.What's next?
This has all transpired in the last few hours, and we are still recovering. The dust has not settled. We do not know what the future holds for us, other than knowing that this Discord server will continue onward. The disagreements that have arisen within the community are very concerning. If you have an old well-coordinated team that includes a REAL programmer, it is important to take charge of the project—even if it means redoing the migration. I see nothing wrong with using AI to write code, but the programmer must have a 100% understanding of how that code works and must be an integral part of the team.
The entire situation makes me so fucking sad...

Welp, things just changed again. I will continue looking for an alternate site, because MakeFox just took over blep.art and the creators of the site don't have any control over it.

Facts. 621 has nothing on this. I have had my account for only 1.5 years, only 9-10 pages of stuff I’ve saved of artwork I’ve searched long and hard for all the way back to 2011. Here 5-6 pages in 7 months, bear in mind I came to this site under a year ago. Gone as far back as 2023. Just shows the quality and niche is better here than 621. Which I find barely any quality, adverts for ripoff work, and literal human ‘slop’

In order for "AI" to be trained to generate art it has to sample art of a certain quality. Find me the artists that draw stuff as good as the ai generated art of all the different furry art.... Ai once stole art to get its training data going (no argument) but now its using CGI and other forms of self generated examples to train itself... put some effort into understanding how generative ai actually makes art and you will see that it can not and will not use low quality art even if it was hand drawn for its models.
Also also, it stole TONS more art from anime and cartoons, and if people really did not want their shit to be used, Fucking copyright it... people use to do that to you know... protect their work from theft, so people need stop bitching about art being stollen if the same people can't be bothered to legally protect it.
Here is a Simple fact, Ai generators are not going to stay free, they cant afford to...(they are still loosing 2 dollars for ever dollar they make) someday soon all free Ai art generators will stop, and the work will come back to rhe hand drawn artists... and maybe by then people will learn ways to protect their art if they truly care about it.
I would rather E6ai stay segregated from e621, I like knowing if my art is human made or bot made, and im sure the peiple at Bad dragon would enjoy not having to moderate the slop off the furry site... but killing this site, will not kill the art generated by ai, it will find a place and it will compete with E621, for every minute people are not on bad dragons sites is a minute less they get exposure and $$$...

E621 used to be so good, but it's diminished over the years. I'm almost certain e621 staff have it out for me too. I've posted many good things over the past ~15 years on there, and more than half of them were stricken down for the stupidest reasons. And as you said, there's worse art on there. Worse than stuff I posted that was rejected.
