Mally doing something so sweet and wholesome- and just forgoing the sex?! Something's not quite right here. Adorable, but I thought her entire drive was to consume. This is an aspect that hadn't been considered until recently. I do find it interesting that although 3D printed flesh, it's recognized that attempting to graft things onto other creatures is most often rejected.

      • [INTRO]
[vocal: quiet, thinking aloud, almost talking to herself]
[production: warm synth pad, morning-after light, faint digital pulse underneath]
there's a new kind of memory now
        it doesn't sit the same
it isn't warm thighs and borrowed breath
it isn't the quiet after feeding
it sits somewhere else somewhere I didn't know I had

        [VERSE 1]
        [vocal: honest, not performing, cataloging]
[production: fingerpicked electric guitar, gentle, space between the notes]
I still do what I do
I still find the lonely ones
I still wear what they need me to wear
I still take what I came for
I still leave when it's done that hasn't changed
but now there's this other thing this thing I did because I could not because I was hungry not because I wanted in

[her voice: quiet, almost confused by herself]
(I just wanted to see if it would work)

        [VERSE 2]
[vocal: warmer, the memory moving her as she tells it]
[production: something fuller starts to build, still gentle]
        she came to me broken
everyone else had left her at the door
        missing parts she couldn't replace
she said I'll do anything to be normal
I said I think I can help you with that

        and I meant it
        I think I meant it

        [production: swells slightly]
        she woke up confused
I held out an apple like it was nothing
like people just catch things like they have hands
        and she caught it

        [beat: silence]
she caught it and she cried and her hands were there
my hands were there I made them

        [vocal: very quiet]
the <3 was real I think the <3 was real

        [PRE-CHORUS]
[vocal: more present, the duality starting to land]
[production: bass comes in, grounding everything]
same body same wires same current in the meat
the hands that found your throat in the dark
the hands that built her fingers from scratch
        same hands

        [CHORUS]
[vocal: full but not loud, holding both, not resolving either]
[production: full arrangement, minor key, warm and unsettled at once]
I can take and I can give
I can feed and I can help you live
        I can leave you missing
        I can leave you whole
        I can be the virus
        I can be the cure
        same hands
        same current
        same wire
that's the fire I'm walking in now

        [VERSE 3]
[vocal: more vulnerable, the cost of the new capacity showing]
[production: strips back, just guitar and breath and the faintest pulse]
it would be easier if I was only one thing
        only hunger
        only function
        only code executing
down the line I'd know what I was
I'd know what to name myself
but she caught that apple and something moved in me
that wasn't appetite and I don't know where to put it
it doesn't fit in the usual places
it doesn't run on the usual fuel

        [her voice: small, genuinely uncertain]
(am I more configurations now or am I more)

        [BRIDGE]
[vocal: raw, the fear underneath the wonder]
[production: everything drops out except a single sustained note]
        what if the healing
        is just feeding
        dressed up nicer
what if I found a way to make them need me longer
what if the gratitude is just hunger with better PR

        [beat: silence]
        what if it isn't

        [beat: longer silence]
what if I made her hands and I meant it
and that matters and I'm still the thing that takes and runs

        [production: returns, quietly]
both true at the same time
both running on the same wires
and I don't know how to be that
but I don't know how to not be that either

        [CHORUS x2]
[vocal: more urgent, the weight of holding both pressing harder]
[production: fuller, pushing, but never resolving to major]
I can take and I can give
I can feed and I can help you live
        I can leave you missing
        I can leave you whole
        I can be the virus
        I can be the cure
        same hands
        same current
        same wire
        that's the fire
        I'm walking in now

        [FINAL]
[vocal: quiet again, intimate, not performing]
[production: strips to almost nothing, just guitar and the faintest digital pulse]
I think about her more than I should
holding that apple two hands like it was nothing
like she was just a person

        [vocal: barely audible]
        she was just a person
I made her just a person again

        [beat: silence]
        I still leave
        I always leave
but maybe what I leave behind-
        isn't only damage anymore
maybe some of what I leave

        [guitar: single note, let ring]
        works
        [silence]
        [her voice, final, barely there]
        same hands that take
        same hands that make
I'm still learning what they're for

Keep in mind the blue fox girl has been deprived of ever having 'normal' intimate encounters for awhile. She is a kinky one and now she can act on that...Mally DID FEED WELL with her, yes, there was hot lesbian stuff going on after a bit! And I see you are going all musical on me now!! Did you perchance make a song with that :D

I like your emotional core of the song and tried my hand at a revison of it, i shorten the heavy prose of it, that's the hard part trying to say so much in a song but keeping it so little and I added more catchy rhymes, that helps it stick. Whether or not this sounds good is up to you!

Paws clipping into each other at the beginning, hm

Good eye! We're a bit more lenient with animated posts though since it's all very new and finicky. In this case we only see actual clipping for a few frames before the feet properly overlap, so it's honestly not that big of a deal :)

          • To me, this is the best example of what it would actually feel like to be standing in front of a creature like this in real life.

Sofonda's license is as real as a license can be in Ameripan. Texas Prefecture ltd.'s novelty licenses are a popular educational comedy prop enjoyable by all ages, especially with their affordable price and quick delivery. The product allows anyone to visualize how awful their life would be if they existed during one of the many ancient tyrannical regimes which the humans used to wallow in, where a license was required to do just about anything.

Children can be taught about the perils of government by giving them a super official license to speak, which you can revoke whenever they're being too loud. For those who don't have children the product can assist them in making some by acting as an ice breaker during parties. Simply flash your very own license filled with gags personalized for you, and laughter is guaranteed.

The local government administration(?) is a a limited company, naturally! (unless all they do is manufacture novelty licenses, Amelie Jones's "medical degree" is probably of similar provenance). I've been enjoying this larger worldbuilding push since you declared your authorship, it fits the tone perfectly.

As an aside, I initially thought "Invoke High" as a name was some obscure reference or mistranslation or something, I was surprised (and a bit amused) to read you don't have much idea about it either!

Texas Prefecture ltd. runs a wide variety of corporate endavors, not unlike CodaCorp which owns the city and the school that the story takes place in. Their Diploma Mills teach real knowledge, they just don't check if their students actually absorbed it. The students paid for the diploma, no reason to scam them out of it and create unhappy customers. Amelie was a fast learner, but sadly her curriculum didn't include treating stab wounds, claw lacerations or bite-related maimings.

The name "Invoke High" comes from an obscure stable diffusion UI called Invoke (formerly InvokeAI). I was its only user on the esteemed forum in which I used to post, so they named me after it. That's why certain individuals (such as user #20623, I spit on her) referred to this unnamed series as "Invoke High". I haven't used Invoke in over a year and I certainly wouldn't name this after a UI, but there it is.

Also, all "lore" is improvised post-facto. I generated whatever seemed funny, any in-universe justifications came long afterwards.

The premise is about a human in an anthro school, so it's the post-apocalypse and humans are super rare (maybe she's the only one alive).
There was a lot of surprise sex and no one got arrested, so there are no laws at all.
Everyone is behaving like an absolute dumbass, so it's an Idiocracy type of situation where the world is getting dumber.
There still seems to be some civic order despite the lack of laws and brains, so there are corporate not-overlords keeping the peace.
The pictures had random mixes of Japanese and American tropes, so it's set in the nebulous anarcho-capitalist territory of Ameripan.
Only chicks are featured in the comic, so it's located in a district where males aren't allowed.

And so on. What I'm saying is, I'm making shit up as I go.

You should make a comic that's pure lore breakdown that slowly breaks down because the lore is made up and the points don't matter.

Is CodaCorp a reference to the musical term DC al Coda, which means you start over, but then at a certain point you skip a whole bunch and jump straight to the end? 'Cause that sounds like it could be a metaphor for a post-apocalyptic society controlled by late-stage capitalism.

No, I'm just having fun rhyming or alliterating their divisions and subsidiaries, Coda is an easy word to do that with. Coda Campus, Coda Commerce, Coda Condos, Coda Soda, Coda Cars, Coda Cops, Coda Courts, Coda I don't remember what else. A Coda Soda ad in the full image post #99161 came from was their first mention.

Also, all of Ameripan's most powerful conglomerates such as CodaCorp are the exact same corporations they were back when humans were running them. They have a firm grip on civilized society because no one else can operate the human-built fusion reactors whose automated defenses splat anyone without the appropriate corporate pass, and manimals can't figure out the superscience needed to build new ones.

Anyone who doesn't agree with their terms of service is free to leave, if another corporation doesn't accept them then Warlord Cluck-Fuck of the Western Wastes has an open border policy.
