dispersion

Sometimes referred to as chromatic or spectral dispersion, indicates the separation of light into it's component wavelengths. Examples include rainbows and the distortion of light at the extreme edge of a focal lens, sometimes creating a rainbow like border around focused light reflections (such as a spot light).
