cotton candy

Cotton candy (also known as fairy floss in Australia, or candy floss in South Africa, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand) is a form of sugar that is spun into a light, fluffy mass with a cotton-like consistency. Affiliated with fairs, circuses, carnivals, and Japanese festivals, the confection is normally served on a stick or in a plastic bag. The candy itself is naturally white, but it is usually given food coloring and flavoring, the two most familiar ones being "blue raspberry" and "pink vanilla".
