Zenless Zone Zero is a free-to-play urban fantasy 3D action role-playing gacha game developed and published by miHoYo, available for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox, iOS, and Android.

The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic futuristic metropolis known as New Eridu. The outside world had been ravaged by the expansion of Hollows, supernatural dimensions that corrupt all living things within them into dangerous creatures called Ethereals. Despite the dangers presented by Hollows, they are filled with treasures of the pre-disaster world and Ether, a valuable resource used for the production of energy and weapons. This lead to the practice of illegally raiding Hollows for profit. Most often, the work of raiding is done by people with high resistance to Ether corruption, such as Thirens (who resemble humans with animal traits or are fully anthro beings).

Due to the shifting maze-like nature of the Hollows, those who traverse them, illegally or otherwise, require the guidance of a Bangboo (rabbit-like robots that can hold up-to-date navigation data and can extract civilians from danger), or a Proxy, illegal guides-for-hire. The game's story is told from the perspective of the legendary Proxy Phaethon, consisting of a pair of siblings named Belle and Wise, who run a video store as a cover for their illegal Proxy work. Their attempts to use their services to learn the secrets of the old world and uncover the mysteries of their own past lead to them becoming entangled with the most powerful people in New Eridu on both sides of the law, and the discovery of a conspiracy that may bring a new disaster upon the world.
