I get the feeling it may be one of those "keep an eye on the bird while I plow this 'bold" situations, to ensure she doesn't squawk into the wrong earhole and start a bar brawl.

Hahah, that's a good point. The man got a true winglizard(?) so he could enjoy plowing fully.
I hope she'd get rewarded for her sacrifice with some good plaps if she excepts such payment :D
