MemberHa-ha, not that simple! Making an AU, even a little one, not an easy job! All original characters must feel... well, alive enough to make viewers happy or sad for them, so we are working hard on their backstories, personalities, roles etc...
As example, there's explanation for the "alpha", beta and other things frequently mentioned in text (too lazy to translate it manually, so here comes the google translate:D)
"A deal is a deal..." - What price will you have to pay to keep a powerful fighter on your side?
"Betas" are not very loyal to their trainers and can leave the team at any time of their own free will, which, however, does not characterize them as unreliable or cowardly partners. On the contrary - if a "beta" finds mutual partnership beneficial, it will stay with the trainer until the end of his life and will fight fiercely for him, sparing no effort. "Beta" is the second most important status of a personal Pokémon, after "alpha".
Speaking of "alphas"... As a rule, these are the most loyal Pokémon to the trainer, ready to stay with him until the end outside the framework of any agreements and conditions. Alphas jealously protect their owners and, if necessary, will give their own life to save the owner's, because they know that their trainer would do the same for them. Alphas can command Betas and other Pokémon exactly as their Trainer does, giving them the highest status in society and the right to bear a personal name.
Gammas are Pokémon that a Trainer has already built a trusting relationship with, but are still not as strong as their chosen Beta, or are simply unable to become strong/loyal enough due to their final stages of evolution or beliefs. Gammas will not fight opponents that are stronger or more agile than them, making them suitable only for certain situations. Gammas, due to their lowest status in the hierarchy, are forced to obey the orders of Betas and Alphas. Unlike Betas and Alphas, there can be several such Pokémon.
All other personal Pokémon that do not fit into the hierarchy are forced to obey any orders from above. Their number is not constant - all the slackers and loafers are escorted to freedom, while the most promising of them are transferred to the status of "gamma". It is usually impossible to talk about "loyalty" or "discipline" of such Pokémon - they either do not have it, or it is expressed very weakly.
And, returning to our Zoro... Hee-hee, it is obvious that she has found her joy and is ready to go to it at any cost!
