The long-awaited day finally happened for the young stallion whom you met before. The ritual lasts for the entire day and consists of several smaller tasks at increasing levels of complexity. The premise is simple: in order to be acknowledged as an adult, one has to prove their readiness to serve the community.

Most tasks are fairly mundane and aren't much of a challenge. The most important comes last, as passing it allows one to wear the fertility mark on their fur and signals readiness for reproduction.

The exact details of the ritual vary from tribe to tribe. In this one, a younger male has to earn his markings by performing a sexual act on an older horse of his choosing to prove his virility. Fertility is sacred for equines, and during ritual sex, wasting seed is forbidden. Sharing love juices is considered an act of ultimate selflessness and is often practiced.

The young stud seemed to perform well, perhaps even too well, as his mother decided to rush in to help salvage the sacred fluids. The evening is by no means over yet, as many of the other tribe members, including our hero, will become united in common celebrations.
