🐍 Scene Log — “When Stone Watches”
Glacier Basin, Southern Rivulets — Duskfall, 9,230 AEC
Sitting in quiet retreat, wings relaxed, talons half-submerged in the chilled basin pool. The glacial spring wraps his body in silence — the kind only known to Skycarvers. Here, thought softens. Tension fades. The world becomes texture, temperature, and breath.
He is alone. Or believes he is.
Behind him, fused into the cave’s arch — where once lay a natural stone outgrowth — now coils a shape that does not belong.Seemingly carved into the rock, subtly shift. Their eyes do not glint. They absorb. Their forms are not natural erosion. They pulse faintly, like rooted organs beneath limestone.
The S’rashka call them Witness-Fangs — residual mutations seeded through deepstone resonance, grown from echo-crystals and trained to observe.
Their purpose here is unclear. Perhaps they monitor territory borders. Perhaps they catalogue Skycarver rituals for replication or distortion. Or perhaps they wait for Zyrral to speak — to break the vow of silence that guards his people’s rites.
But he does not speak.
And so they watch.
No sound. No strike.
Just the coil of intent, resting in stone.
