Topic: Is it allowed to post AI art that is trying to imitate a specific artist?

Posted under General

I noticed the last few images from Styx343 have a pretty decent rendition of zackary911's artist signature. The fact I can recognise it and that it's on several of these makes it clear that his name was put into the prompt. Or maybe it's his art being put through an AI filter, not sure. The art style doesn't match up a whole lot to me, but the signature sure does. I thought there was something said against doing this, but I couldn't find the rules for this in the Rules section. Did I just imagine there being rules about this?

Don't look now, but almost every image on here is doing this. Using artists in the prompt, that is. However it's generally considered welcome etiquette to remove generated signatures. In some instances, users may not have access to inpainting tools (usually how you'll remove unwanted elements like signatures) depending on what software they're using, and that's one reason they'll show up.

Bump. I'm curious too since I'm using (by <artist name here>) too in my prompts and I'd like to post some gens without worrying about stepping on eggshells.
