Topic: Delays on post approvals

Posted under General

I've noticed that there are posts from almost 10 days ago that still haven't been approved, while a couple of posts gets approved in less than a day, thus hindering most users from posting due to the post limit not updating (myself included).

Is there a reason for this discrepancy, or some rule on how long it takes that I've missed?

Hello

We're currently a bit short staffed. More particularly, the lack of janitors. We're actively looking for people willing to fill this role so we can get our uploading schedules back on track.

In the meantime, please be patient. I'll go ahead and take look at some of your post.
In case you didn't know already. Post that exceed a minimum of 30 days without approval will be deleted by our Auto Moderator.

Hope this helps clarify some questions you may have.

I hope it doesn't come to that and we lose generations...
Good luck finding staff!

What's your criteria for helping out with this?

either the user who can be of help from staff to become a janitor is called by the staff or e6 team make an open form for anyone to fill and then after some time deciding, chosen users becomes janitors

Just my opinion, but given the apparent difficulty in acquiring adequate help, such self-restrictive criteria seems... inefficient. Perhaps criteria to recruit some Members, even if only temporarily, ought be considered? As it is, with the Anti-AI sentiment being prevalent, even in the Furry Community, it's easier to find good faith help through contributing Members.

My own first picture got flagged for supposedly not following posting guidelines. I can't find a single guideline it doesn't meet, to the best of my understanding of them as they are written. I'm hesitant to upload anything else because I'm not sure if it's going to be a waste of effort to tag my pictures correctly. If the process of checking this stuff is just bogged down by not enough people, I'd like to help get it moving along.

For this janitor hiring round, ending in a few days, we are looking for applicants with decent drawing skills or at least a sharp eye for anatomical imperfections and other mistakes.

We also prefer some beneficial activity on our website, like flagging problematic posts or correcting tags (and not just under your uploads).

Well, I've only recently gained the ability to do any of that. While I don't make a habit of patrolling the site looking for corrections to make (primarily because it's not my responsibility to be doing so at this time. I do tend to make corrections as I find them necessary. I assume tagging rules are the same as e621. Tag based on what's depicted? As for posting guidelines, would I be wrong to assume that they are meant to be enforced exactly as written, and no use of arbitrary interpretation?

posts once
gets flagged and deleted once
think it's all bad and i quote

obvious double standard of low integrity moderators, posting obviously digitally drawn, not AI-generated art. I will see myself out of this bullshit website

sounds accurate to 95% of users who just "quit" e6ai

The reason for deletion is always clearly stated by the janitor who deleted it under the post.
Also quote from you in the "which generators do you use"-thread:

I use Perchance. Free access, free use, no hassle.

“Perchance” is the reason. This website is the worst option in the whole world to generate AI art. Yes, it’s free but you know what they say: “You get what you pay for!”.
The website uses completely outdated models from the “AI stone age”. The chance of getting an image from it that has very severe generation errors is like 95%. So it’s safe to say that Perchance-generated content is not suitable for upload on e6ai most times.

I also noticed the delays.

Hope this website will prosper in the future. I'd be happy to help, but unfortunately I think my quality standards are way too low xD .\

So, dear mods, thanks for your help, and I hope you continue to stick around

Sent you how to apply in Dmail.

I'm willing to chip in some amount of time casually -- and I think that might be the thing here, is that there's probably a lot more people willing to do casual bits here and there than full-time it

Maybe this is a thing that could be crowdsourced? Have maybe a double or triple-fault system in place where anyone can look over the queue and temporarily approve, but crucially, anyone can also flag for rejection, and if say, three separate accounts (or some other arbitrary number) all flag the image, it gets rejected.

Just a thought, anyway. I feel like it would be a more resilient system, anyway.
