Hello, I have noticed recently that some popular sites (X, archived.moe/4chan) aren't permitted in URLs, I am curious about which sites are allowed.
Additionally, I can't find a list of approved sites in the 'Upload Whitelists' section, could Mod/Admin(s) let me know if this is a bug?

I'm pretty sure linking to X/twitter is permitted. As for 4chan, i know that desuarchive for the threads is permitted as well

Oh i did try to use a URL that leads to X but the site said "Uploads from x.com are not permitted. Reason given: x.com not in whitelist (View whitelisted domains)"

Maybe you're trying to link directly to the image, and not the post?

Oh i use a similiar link structure to that yeah, but i get the same error still

on the upload page there are 2 sections
file section and source
File:
Select file or use a URL for direct linking of the image
the direct image linking is from the main e621 as users don't want/need to download everything just to upload something
so they get the direct link of the image of lets say twitter

for e621 is for users to no need to download anything, the whitelisting is for the e6 servers to download it directly so users can upload
i believe there would be no reason to put whitelisting here cuz most of the people uploading are the self generative directors and there wouldn't be enough to be a trouble to add whitelisting here
could be wrong and its just speculation

you were putting the link in the wrong place
it should be in the source section as it's written:

Sources
You should include: A link to the page where this was obtained, and a link to the submission page where this image was obtained. Useful if this content was posted to ex. Twitter.

if you generate anything and posted somewhere as well
put that as the source for the media you are uploading
