facial markings

When a character has a distinctive mark, such as a pattern, on their face.

Examples

  • blaze (marking) -- A facial stripe on the nose, often seen on horses
  • mask (marking) -- Often seen on raccoons
  • muzzle (marking) -- When the snout is a separate color from the rest of the face but it's not part of a countershading pattern
