scrotum flap

The scrotum_flap is an artistic trend wherein the scrotum is depicted with loose extra skin, often added to the bottom middle of the sac and is meant to represent the testicles being tugged up away from the bottom of the bag, possibly as a corruption or exaggeration of the cremasteric reflex. This is not to be confused with retracted balls, which is an anatomical feature that arises when the testicles tug up independently of the scrotum, usually at the moment of ejaculation.

Scrotum flaps are typically depicted as a loose, flat "tab" of extra skin at the bottom of the scrotum, though they may also be depicted as a more voluminous horizontal crease at the bottom, or empty skin meant to fill space between testicles.

While the origin of the current popular depiction of the scrotum_flap is unclear, it appears to have become a large artistic trend around 2023 and has ballooned in popularity in art since.
