nipple fetish

Nipple fetish indicates that not only are nipples present in the image, but that the image sexualises or fetishises them in some way. Note that this applies specifically to the nipples, not the areola or breasts. The main situations where this tag applies are:

  • The work depicts nipple play (handled automatically via tag implication).
  • No nipple play is currently taking place, but the composition of the image makes it clear that some is about to, or recently has.
  • The work depicts lactation (or secretion of some other fluid through the nipples) in an erotic manner.
  • The nipples appear unusually large or otherwise prominent relative to the character's other proportions (especially of the pecs/breasts), or they have some other noticeable unique or unusual feature such that they form a significant erotic focal point of the work.
  • The composition and framing of the work makes it clear that nipples are a major erotic focus of the work.

Most instances of works being tagged with nipple_fetish are a result of the implication nipple_play -> nipple_fetish. However, nipple_fetish is broader than this - many works that don't depict nipple play do still meet the sexualisation/fetishisation criteria.

Simply being rating:e with visible nipples is not enough to warrant a nipple_fetish tag, but the right style and composition are often all it takes. There's a fair bit of grey area and interpretation here, but it essentially boils down to:

Are nipples a key erotic focus of this work? If the answer is yes, then it deserves a nipple_fetish tag.

Is lactation nipple_fetish?

Lactation does not automatically imply nipple_fetish per se, as lactation can be depicted without a fetishistic or sexualised focus on nipples.

However, many works depicting lactation clearly do constitute nipple_fetish. In general, as long as the lactation or nipples are depicted sexually or pornographically, then the work deserves a nipple_fetish tag.

Males do not typically lactate, so works depicting male lactation are pretty much always examples of fetish art and should usually be tagged with nipple_fetish.

If milking or a milking machine is involved (in an erotic manner), then this would already warrant a nipple_play tag which would then imply nipple_fetish automatically.

Re: big_nipples and other size tags

As with lactation, these size tags do not necessarily imply nipple_fetish. The key is whether the nipples are particularly emphasised and fetishised relative to the rest of the work. This can be influenced by how the nipples are drawn, and how the work is composed and framed (whether it draws attention to the nipples).

Context matters - if a character has hyper_everything, then their hyper nipples may not seem like much of a focus overall.

On the other hand, if the character has otherwise moderate proportions then big nipples can stand out and draw significant attention to themselves - especially if they have normal-sized pecs and/or breasts.

Re: puffy_nipples, multi_nipple, and other traits

The same standard as for the size tags applies to traits such as multi nipple, puffy nipples, inverted nipples, and nipple piercings - they can constitute nipple_fetish on their own, but only if they are a significant erotic focus of the work. Most of the time, these traits do serve to draw increased attention to the nipples, but the wider context of the work matters, just like with the size tags.

For example, if a character's inverted nipples are one of the most notable, attention-grabbing erotic elements of the work, then a nipple_fetish tag would be appropriate.

Some traits (eg multi_nipple) are arguably more inherently fetishistic than others. This factors into the evaluation.

Re: areola, breasts and pecs

It can be hard to separate areola and nipples, but that's fine, because most of the time you don't need to. Big nipples and big areola tend to go hand-in-hand, as do puffy nipples and puffy areola, etc. A focus on one usually implies a focus on the other.

The main exception is if there is no nipple play being depicted and the areola are drawn flat and featureless; in that case the nipple_fetish tag should normally not be used even if it seems like the areola are particularly large or in focus (because there would be no nipples being depicted).

With breasts and pecs, it tends to go the other way, as discussed previously. Big breasts and big pecs can sometimes take the focus away from the nipples themselves.

Re: teats, udders, dicknipples, and other alternative nipples

For tagging purposes, teats, udders, and dicknipples are generally not tagged as breasts or nipples, and hence usually should not be tagged with nipple_fetish.
