Meta: three-quarter portrait

A three-quarter portrait is a portrait that depicts a character from the ankles, shins, knees, or midway up the thighs, to above their head. This is also known as a "medium-wide shot" or "cowboy shot". This tag can be applied regardless of what angle the character is shown from (from the front, rear, low angle or high angle), as long as the image fits the above criteria.

Not to be confused with...
  • half-length portrait - this is a character shown from the hips, lower belly, or waist up
  • three-quarter view - this is a character shown from an angle between a front or rear view and a side view
