insect wings

Describes a distinct set of usually thin and translucent wings strengthened by lengthwise, cross-connected veins along their membranes. In nature, insects often have a pair of forewings and hindwings. In art, these wings may be simplified to a solid, non-translucent color, such as white, and lepidopteran wings (butterflies and moths) in particular are generally non-translucent.
