Topic: Any good image enhancement tools?

Posted under AI Art Tutorials

I was wondering if there were any good (free if possible) image enhancement tools I can use for increasing the quality of my uploads? I currently use Frosting.AI to generate images and Dream.AI to help with touch-ups and quality control but I feel like I could be using something much better. Any good recommendations? Thanks

Never tried online tools. When doing it offline using stable diffusion you have a big room for experiments, like using different combinations of LORA and checkpoint AI models with different artists prompt that will alter output image quality.

Copy/pasted here comment from birdlover AI director that makes mostly (but not only) female birds in semi-realistic style on high resolution. If you are not familiar with his generated images you should see his works. It's looks awesome.

Also he don't use top most hardware. His work based on 2060 Mobile GPU, so you can do it to on average PC too that can handle more demanding games than ported DooM

I do most of my gens at 768x768 or 960x960 and then proceed to do something similar to hiresfix (cobbled together manually in ComfyUI) to get them to about 1500x1500. This takes about 5-10 min per image.

Finally, for the images I like, I apply a more traditional Model Based Upscaler. These aren't as good as HiResFix, but some of them really do a good job. Right now I typically do 4xNomos8kSCHAT-L for realistic images, or 4x_Real_SSIR_DAT_GAN for flat images (it'll have a smoothing and edge sharpening effect). These upscales usually take about 10 minutes per Image.
