Disclosure: I created the current wiki definition for hind_legs that I felt best conformed to its current usage on e621. Previously, no wiki page existed for hind_legs, neither here nor on e621.
If changes without prior permission are not welcome, do let me know and I'll revert the change (or a janitor will beat me to it, whoever gets there first).

Suggestion 1: Implicate on_hind_legs -> hind_legs
  • on_hind_legs could be considered a subset of hind_legs since standing on hind legs requires having hind legs to start with.
Suggestion 2: Possible re-name for on_hind_legs
  • "on hind legs" may be served by a better-worded hypothetical tag, something like "standing_on_hind_legs" or "quadruped_on_hind_legs", but I'm not the best with coming up with concise tags. If anyone has wording suggestions feel free to share.
Suggestion 3: Reverse the alias direction for on_hind_legs in favor of rearing_up (on_hind_legs -> rearing_up)
  • Actually, there is an existing tag on e621 that aliases to on_hind_legs: rearing_up!
    • On here, the tag does not exist (0 usage) and is currently not aliased to anything.
  • I think rearing_up is better worded for the purpose of describing a feral critter temporarily standing/walking on two legs, as it avoids confusion with simply having the shape of hind legs, and it's concise.
    • This change would reverse the alias direction and would steal all tags that currently alias to on_hind_legs.
Suggestion 4: Possible re-name for hind_legs instead
  • Further along that train of though, hind_legs could be aliased to some other hypothetical tag, like "hind_legs_(anatomy)" or "animalistic_legs", which would make its usage clearer.
Suggestion 5: alias hind_legs -> on_hind_legs
  • At first glance this makes the most sense since there is a decent overlap between hind_legs and on_hind_legs, but I believe there is an important distinction in that on_hind_legs requires the character to NOT be bipedal! hind_legs has no such requirement.
    • I will be slightly sad if this is the direction this goes in, but I won't make any more arguments than I already have and will accept whatever choice is made :P I just really like haunchy animalistic legs and would love to have a tag to pull from in future generalized checkpoints without having to resort to Loras.
      • If moderation decisions are made independently between here and e621, I'll create a separate forum post on e621 to request the same thing, since afaik most (all?) furry-centric checkpoints use e621 images for their dataset and probably won't end up using AI-generated images from e6ai.

What are your thoughts?

I think rearing_up makes perfect sense. Nice catch! If you want my opinion that's the way it should go.
