alternate color

This applies when a character is portrayed with a noticeably different color such as having their skin, hair, or even costume in some cases (e.g. the pink Spider-Man) change. When Pokémon are involved, this should designate a coloration that is neither their regular nor shiny one.

Example

From left to right (going by Tyrantrum's palette):

  • Regular (brick-red primary, grey countershading, orange accents)
  • Shiny (blue primary, grey countershading, grey accents)
  • Alternate (in this case: blue primary, grey countershading, orange accents)

Of course, the alternate colors can be much more varied than this example. Hypothetically, a Tyrantrum with pink primary, white countershading, and white accents for another alternate color example. At the time of writing, this set of thumbnail examples were the only ones available, although the alternate color example here doesn't deviate too much from the official colors, using a mix of both.
